A brief presentation of us
Nordstadjugend a.s.b.l. is a Luxembourgish non-profit and non-governmental organization founded in 1989. We have been actively involved in youth work at local, national, and international levels, supporting young people in their personal development, integration, and empowerment. Working with individuals between the ages of 11 and 30, we provide various services such as youth centers, a youth information point, regional projects, and support for young adults living independently. Our core mission is to offer opportunities for personal growth, career orientation, prevention, and the promotion of democratic processes.
As part of our commitment to youth work, we have been actively engaged in Erasmus+ projects for several years. Our team consists of experienced youth workers and educators with backgrounds in social work, pedagogy, and youth engagement. With degrees in these fields and extensive hands-on experience, we are dedicated to creating meaningful opportunities for young people. Continuous learning and professional development are central to our work, and we regularly participate in training courses, exchange programs, and workshops, including those organized by national agencies. These experiences strengthen our expertise in youth work methodologies, project management, and intercultural learning.
Among our key initiatives are recurring outdoor education programs and creative youth exchanges that promote well-being, self-expression, and intercultural dialogue. Through these projects, we create inclusive spaces for young people to learn, grow, and connect beyond geographical and cultural boundaries. Our goal is to empower young people to become active citizens, confident leaders, and lifelong learners. By continually reflecting on our practices and improving our methods, we ensure the success and sustainability of every project we undertake.
Since 2015, Nordstadjugend has been organizing the Outdoor+ youth exchange, using outdoor activities to build self-confidence in collaboration with partners from Finland, Spain, Romania, and Liechtenstein/Austria, with Jordan joining in 2025. Committed to intercultural understanding, social inclusion, and active citizenship, we also hosted the 2023 Healthy Potter and the Chamber of Emotions exchange, bringing together young people from five countries to promote mental health, self-care, and artistic creativity through activities like pottery and poetry slam. These initiatives create safe spaces for open dialogue and personal growth, fostering connections across cultures.
